This article is based on the correspondence between Izmajlov and Brusov (1909-1917) to be published by the Russian Literature Institute (Pushkinskiy Dom) of the Russian Academy of Sciences. The unpublished materials from the archives of St. Petersburg and Moscow were also considered.
The present study is devoted to the history of creation of Ivanov’s translations of Armenian authors, involving of all the surviving materials: correspondence between Brusov and Ivanov, other persons’ epistolary materials, the preparatory materials the poet used, the manuscripts of Ivanov’s translations and the line glosses taken from the archive repositories of St.Petersburg, Moscow and Rome.
