Abstract

The article is concerned with V. Brusov’s attitude toward E. Poe’s aesthetic theory. The emphasis is on the investigation of «total effect» as one of the central artistic devices of E. Poe’s mystical novellas and on identifying peculiarities of its realization in V. Brusov’s short story «Now that I’m awake…».
