| dc.description.abstract | The article addresses the role of voice quality in the realization of communicative strategies in social-political polylogues, on the basis of British talk shows. Even though each person has a unique voice, voice quality is of central importance in reaching communicative aims in conflict and cooperation polylogues. Perceptive and auditory analyses were carried out to determine the connection between voice quality and pragmatic features of the discourse. Certain extracts were analyzed with the help of Praat software to determine the intensity of voice and its relation to timbre. | |
