Abstract
This article is an attempt to shed light on the lexical, grammatical and stylistic features of the US news reports on the Armenian massacres committed by Azeris at the turn of the 20th century. The language of newspaper reporting presents a wider range of linguistically distinctive techniques. One of the main functions of publicistic style is to contain relevant information. The Mass Media select events for reporting according to a complex criteria of news worthiness. Therefore, the newsworthy and relevant pieces of news regarding 1905-1921 Armenian massacres committed by Caucasian Tatars (now Azeris) have found their reflection in US press as well.
