Abstract

The most common form of academic writing is an abstract. The abstract written in English is often the only text helping foreign readers to understand the content of a paper. Writing abstracts is in fact very important for researchers, who have to present the results of their research in a foreign language. This paper aims to present some features of teaching writing abstracts in English. A number of methods and exercises aimed at developing abstract writing have been proposed. The proposed methodology will help to prepare and present abstracts at conferences or publish articles in internationally recognized scientific journals.
