dc.description.abstract The purpose of this article is to analyze ideas, principles and fundamental approaches, constituting the basis for the formation of a new state general educational standard, as well as the to stimulate constructive discussions in the field of the teaching community before the full and final implementation of the standard. The article examines the features of the content of education based on competencies and the final results that contribute to their formation, the innovations of the proposed basic curriculum and the assessment system. As a result of the comparative analysis, the advantages of the new standard and certain risks associated with the full perception of the ideas reflected in it and its implementation are presented.
