dc.description.abstract The article presents theoretical foundations and methods of presenting the literature of the country of the studied language, which are used during literature courses at Brusov State University. Among the issues discussed in the article are the definitions of "literary awareness" ("literarische Kompetenz"), creativity, action-oriented and result-oriented methods. The purpose of the article is to present the method of aesthetics of reception and the necessity of its application. This is due to the fact that this approach leads to a new understanding of reading, as the reader can be said to take the place of the text as a meaning-making entity. Among the issues discussed in the article there are also action-oriented and result-oriented approaches, depicted in the form of possible tasks. At the end, examples of the students‘ literary works are given.
