Abstract
The article is devoted to the study of French, English and Armenian proverbs from the point of view of value perceptions. The purpose of the paper is to once again confirm the idea that proverbs and sayings, which were formed and established during the historical development of this or that culture, are expressions of national identity and wisdom. The analysis of proverbs allows to reveal the semantic condensations that exist in the value, conceptual, behavioral priorities of different cultures, and the moral and ethical norms encapsulated in them may differ in different languages. The comparative analysis of the French, English and Armenian proverbs selected by us provides an opportunity to distinguish both universal cultural components and distinctive value elements. The presence of remarkable similarities is explained by the universality of these values and their sameness of understanding. The differences are mainly due to the fact that the French, English and Armenian cultures belong to different cultural models and differ in their practical and everyday orientations.
